Cheryl L. Jones

Personal Experience

Ms. Jones worked as a Deputy Public Defender from 1989 to 2019. She tried all categories of cases, from misdemeanors to capital cases, where her client faced the death penalty. As a trial lawyer, she tried over 100 cases. She became a manager in 1997, becoming Special Counsel to the Chief Public Defender. Later, she became a Head Deputy, overseeing New Attorney Training and the Long Beach Branch Office. In 2008, she became a Division Chief, overseeing five branch locations. As of 2019, Ms. Jones retired from the Public Defender’s Office to care for ailing parents. She activated her real estate Broker’s license. Currently, she assists as a Broker Associate at Villa Home Brokerage. Ms. Jones has excellent communication skills, writing skills, analytical skills, client interview skills, research skills and public relations skills.
